The nomination of former National Labor Relations Board Member Richard Griffin to be General Counsel of the NLRB has been approved by the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions. The vote was 13-9. If approved by the full Senate, Griffin, a former union lawyer, will replace Acting General Counsel Lafe Solomon. A full-Senate vote has not been scheduled yet. If confirmed, Griffin is expected to continue what many NLRB observers believe to be Solomon’s pro-labor positions.
